Newly released emergency calls reveal the frantic moments following a shooting incident at a food court on Peachtree Street in downtown Atlanta.

Authorities have identified the suspect as 34-year-old Jeremy Malone, a convicted felon, who allegedly entered the food court armed with a gun on Tuesday afternoon. He reportedly engaged in a dispute with another individual before opening fire, injuring three people, including two women.

In the distressing 911 recordings, a distressed caller from Willy’s Mexicana Grill in the food court described the chaos as gunshots rang out, prompting them to seek shelter with two of the victims.

“We heard gunshots fired and we just ran. It was one, then we heard multiple – two, three, four, five – and then it just stopped,” the caller recounted.

Another caller informed operators that she and her colleagues were inside their restaurant following the sound of gunfire.

“We just had a shooting outside,” she reported.

After the shooting, Malone reportedly encountered an off-duty officer in the vicinity, who managed to neutralize the threat by shooting Malone.
