Ravi : “Driver Surrenders in Darshan Murder Case”

Bengaluru: In a surprising turn of events in the murder case involving Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, the driver of the taxi that ferried Renukaswamy from Chitradurga to Bengaluru has surrendered to the police. The driver, known as Ravi, had been in hiding since the incident. He turned himself in on Thursday evening following advice from the Taxi Association in Chitradurga, according to police sources.

Darhsan’s associates had utilized Ravi’s taxi to transport Renuswamy to their secret location in Bengaluru, where he was subjected to physical harm for sending “derogatory” messages to Pavithra Gowda regarding her alleged involvement with Darshan. The police believe Darshan’s associates enticed the 34-year-old pharmacy worker, a fan of Darshan, to abduct him from Chitradurga.

Renukaswamy, as per police sources, was restrained with a rope and physically assaulted with wooden sticks in front of actor Darshan and Pavithra Gowda, resulting in his demise.

Subsequently, Renukaswamy’s body was moved in an SUV and discarded in a stormwater drain within the Kamakshipalya police station limits.

The authorities became aware of the homicide when a food delivery courier alerted them to canines consuming the remains of a man.

Karnataka Film Industry To Take Action On Darshan Based On Police Inquiry Report

A group representing former presidents and executive committee members of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce is projected to convene with Renukaswamy’s relatives today in Chitradurga.

The film body has asserted that any measures against Darshan will be contingent on the police inquiry report concerning a homicide case.

A determination will be made in collaboration with the film artists’ association, it has been stated.

Meanwhile, extensive demonstrations are unfolding in Mandya urging the detention of Darshan. Farmers under the auspices of the Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha have called for a boycott of Darshan’s films as they denounced the statements of Darshan’s fan club members who expressed solidarity with their cinematic idol.
