BOSTON, MA – Two Teenagers Arrested in Roxbury on Serious Firearm Charges

Early Wednesday morning, at approximately 12:45 AM, two 17-year-old males were apprehended by the Boston Police Department’s Anti-Crime Unit in Roxbury, facing significant firearm-related allegations.

The incident transpired when officers responded to a noise complaint near Humboldt Avenue and Homestead Street. Upon their arrival, they observed two young men hastily walking away from the area. The situation escalated as the individuals began to flee upon noticing the police cruiser turning back towards them.

During the pursuit up Munroe Street, law enforcement officers witnessed one of the juveniles holding a firearm after clutching his waistband. Despite repeated commands to halt and drop the weapon, one of the teenagers tried to escape by jumping over a fence but was eventually discovered hiding in a backyard bush. The other suspect was apprehended after a physical altercation before he could scale the fence.

A Glock 20 handgun with twelve rounds in the magazine was found behind the fence where the first suspect attempted to evade capture. The charges against the teenagers include unlawful possession of a firearm, illegal possession of ammunition, possession of a large capacity feeding device, destruction of property, trespassing, and resisting arrest.

The Boston Police Department underscores the gravity of this incident, emphasizing their ongoing commitment to addressing youth involvement in violent activities and ensuring the safety of the community.
