Authorities in Greenwood County, South Carolina, have issued a plea for assistance in connection with the discovery of a deceased woman who was found shot to death on the side of the road. The Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call reporting a shooting at 9 p.m. on Wilson Creek Road within the Pinehurst Subdivision.
Upon arrival at the scene, deputies came across the lifeless body of 38-year-old Kasia Dierra Simmons, hailing from Simpsonville. The county coroner has determined that Simmons sustained fatal gunshot wounds and perished around 8:15 p.m. The incident has been classified as a homicide.
Investigations have revealed that the victim was last seen in the company of an unidentified Black male before the shooting occurred. Law enforcement officials are currently conducting interviews with the deceased’s relatives and acquaintances to ascertain the identity of the individual she was with prior to her untimely demise.
The Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone who may have been in the vicinity of the Pinehurst Subdivision between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. on the evening of the incident to come forward and provide any information they may have that could aid in the investigation.
