Accident – Death – Obituary News : DEKALB COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – A man from Georgia has been apprehended and charged with the electronic solicitation of a minor in DeKalb County, as reported by the sheriff’s office.
The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) received a report in February regarding a 12-year-old girl who was a victim of sexual solicitation through Snapchat by an unidentified adult male.
After a thorough investigation, the individual was identified as 21-year-old Jehad Noman Saloum, hailing from Augusta, Georgia. A warrant was issued for Saloum, and law enforcement agencies from both DeKalb County and Georgia collaborated in attempts to locate him.
Saloum was eventually arrested in Hillsborough County, Florida, in May, and the process of extradition back to DeKalb County commenced.
Subsequently, on June 7, Saloum was booked into the DeKalb County Detention Center on charges of electronic solicitation of a child. He is currently being held on a bond set at $150,000.
