A devastating motorcycle accident in Miami County on Wednesday evening resulted in the untimely death of an 85-year-old man. Gary Davis, a resident of Brookville, was identified as the victim of the crash, confirmed by Miami County Coroner Dr. Bill Ginn.
According to a Miami County Sheriff’s Office crash report, Davis was travelling southbound on S. Shiloh Road on his motorcycle when he failed to stop at a stop sign at Frederick Garland Road. Subsequently, he entered the intersection and was struck by a Chrysler 200 travelling eastbound on Frederick Garland Road.
Tragically, Davis succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the collision. The driver of the Chrysler, an 18-year-old woman from Dayton, was transported to Upper Valley Medical Center with suspected minor injuries.
Deputy Justin Miller, speaking to News Center 7 at the scene, indicated that speed, alcohol, and drugs are not believed to have played a role in the accident. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
