Brian Meredith : “West Kentucky News: Local Updates, Events, and More!”

A Paducah resident is in hot water after being arrested for theft on Wednesday.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a theft at the Duck RV Park on Puryear Drive. The victim stated that a man, later identified as 46-year-old Brian Meredith, had taken $2500 in cash from their residence and fled on foot. Meredith was familiar to the victim and had been hired for odd jobs around the property.

Upon arriving at the scene, a deputy spotted Meredith running behind a business on John Puryear Drive. Despite attempts to evade capture, Meredith eventually emerged from a dense brush area and surrendered to authorities.

During a search, the stolen cash was discovered in Meredith’s wallet. He confessed to taking the money and was promptly placed under arrest by deputies.

Brian Meredith now faces charges of theft by unlawful taking.
