A man from Mohawk, identified as Logan Harris, was found unresponsive inside his vehicle after crashing into a ditch on Democrat Road while reportedly evading the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Wednesday.
The incident began when Harris was observed driving through a stop sign on North Mohawk Road in a reckless manner. A deputy from the sheriff’s department attempted to pursue him, but Harris accelerated and continued towards McDonald Road, ultimately losing the deputy in the process.
During the pursuit, the deputy noticed a black trail leading into a curve on Democrat Road. Following the trail, the wrecked vehicle was discovered resting in a ditch with Harris found unresponsive in the passenger seat. Moments later, Harris regained consciousness and explained that he fled because he did not have insurance for his vehicle.
Upon regaining consciousness, Harris complained of head and neck pain and was subsequently taken to the hospital for assessment of a possible concussion. At the time of the report, no charges had been filed against him. The Tennessee Highway Patrol also assisted in managing the aftermath of the crash.
