COATESVILLE, PA — An 18-year-old suspect with an outstanding homicide warrant was apprehended by the City of Coatesville Police Department on June 12, 2024. The arrest came after an extensive investigation into a vehicle collision and subsequent vehicle pursuit involving stolen cars.

The suspect, identified as 18-year-old Zyun Jabius Thomas, was spotted by detectives entering a convenience store on East Lincoln Highway. When approached, Thomas reportedly resisted arrest and made an attempt to escape. However, law enforcement officers swiftly captured him.

Thomas stands accused of stealing multiple vehicles from the Jeff D’Ambrosia Dealership in West Caln Township on June 4, 2024. One of the stolen vehicles was involved in a crash, resulting in significant damage to city property and structural harm to a building.

Among the charges Thomas faces are three counts of theft of a motor vehicle, burglary, receiving stolen property, criminal trespass, and resisting arrest. Additionally, he had an active homicide warrant from Shreveport, Louisiana, dating back to 2023.

Detective Carmen Mollichella of the Coatesville Police Department spearheaded the investigation, with support from the Chester County District Attorney’s Office. Thomas is currently under custody at the Chester County Prison.

It is important to note that all allegations against Thomas are just that – allegations. He is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Further details may be disclosed as the investigation progresses.
