Accident – Death – Obituary News :

The close-knit community of Bath, located near Strathbogie in Westmoreland, woke up to devastating news yesterday morning. Residents were shocked to learn that two brothers had been shot and killed in their own home, with a third brother left injured following a brutal attack by unknown gunmen.

Community in Mourning

According to reports, the incident took place on Tuesday night when armed assailants forcibly entered the brothers’ residence and opened fire. The victims have been identified as 34-year-old Leon Glaze and 32-year-old Cyril Glaze, while their younger brother, 23-year-old Seon Glaze, survived the ordeal but sustained gunshot wounds.

One resident shared, “We heard multiple gunshots last night, but being night-time, no one ventured out to investigate immediately. It wasn’t until this morning when cries of mourning filled the air that we realised the tragic events that unfolded in our community overnight.”

Brutal Attack

Leon Glaze, who was cornered by the gunmen, suffered fatal gunshot wounds to his head and upper body. Cyril Glaze attempted to flee but was shot in his yard and succumbed to his injuries. Seon Glaze managed to escape, seeking help from a family member who rushed to the scene.

The uncle of the deceased brothers recounted the harrowing experience, stating, “Seon came running to my house, knocking on my window, informing me of the tragic events. I rushed to their home, only to find Leon already deceased inside. Cyril was writhing in pain outside, and despite our efforts to get him to the hospital, he did not survive.”

Shocked Community

The uncle expressed disbelief over the violent incident, emphasizing the peaceful nature of the Bath community. He highlighted the unity among residents and the absence of crime in the area, making the shooting even more perplexing.

He stated, “Bath has always been a safe and friendly neighbourhood. It’s a place where you can trust your neighbours and leave your belongings outside without fear of theft. This tragedy has left us all in shock, as there were no apparent issues that could have led to such a horrific event.”

Close-Knit Family

The Glaze brothers, who were known for their close bond and protective nature towards each other, hailed from a loving family. With their father deceased and their mother residing overseas, the brothers relied on each other for support and companionship.

The entire community now mourns the loss of the Glaze brothers, coming together to support their grieving family members during this difficult time.
