In a devastating incident, five people, including a seven-month-old child, lost their lives in a massive fire that engulfed a house in the Behta Hajipur village of the Loni border area in Ghaziabad district on Wednesday night.
The fire, which broke out suddenly, was finally extinguished after causing extensive damage to the property. Two individuals, a woman and a child, sustained injuries in the blaze and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The victims of this tragic incident have been identified as Saiful Rehman (35), his wife Nazira (32), their daughter Isra (7), their infant son Faiz (7 months old), and Farheen alias Parveen (25). The injured individuals, Arsh (10) and Uzma (25), were admitted to GTB Hospital in Delhi. Fortunately, Arsh has since been discharged from the hospital.
Initial investigations suggest that the fire originated on the ground floor of the building before rapidly spreading to the upper levels, trapping the occupants inside. The presence of foam stored in the house facilitated the quick spread of the flames, resulting in a tragic outcome for the residents.
Following the containment of the fire, authorities were able to recover the bodies of the five victims from the charred remains of the building. Additional Police Commissioner Dinesh Kumar P. confirmed the grim discovery and expressed condolences to the families affected by this heartbreaking incident.
