Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Police in Hokkaido have made a shocking revelation regarding the murder of a 17-year-old high school girl from Rumoi city. A 21-year-old woman, identified as Riko Uchida, and her accomplices used social media to extort the victim, Runa Murayama, before tragically pushing her off a bridge to her death.

According to authorities, Uchida and a 16-year-old boy threatened Murayama on April 18 using a social media app. The conflict reportedly started when Murayama posted Uchida’s photo without permission on social media, leading to the extortion scheme.

Police are currently piecing together the events that culminated in the victim’s untimely demise. It is believed that the suspects coerced Murayama into transferring money or goods through electronic payment systems.

After extorting the victim, Uchida and the boy were later joined by a 19-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl. The group allegedly confined Murayama inside a car from April 18 to 19 before proceeding to the Kamui bridge in Asahikawa.

At the bridge, Uchida and the 19-year-old woman are suspected of pushing Murayama off, resulting in her tragic death. While the suspects had initially been arrested on confinement charges, the two women were recently arrested on murder charges.

It is important to note that individuals under 20 years of age are considered minors under Japanese juvenile law and are not named in the media.

Authorities have not disclosed whether the suspects have confessed to the allegations. Murayama’s family reported her missing in late April when they were unable to reach her. Her body was discovered in late May in the Ishikari River, with drowning confirmed as the cause of death.

The four suspects are known to be acquaintances, and police are currently investigating their relationship with the victim to shed light on the motive behind this heinous crime.
