Accident – Death – Obituary News :

STANISLAUS COUNTY, Calif. — The district attorney’s office and Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil (D-Jackson) are working tirelessly to prevent the potential release of Kevin Scott Gray, a convicted sexually violent predator, in Stanislaus County.

Gray, a notorious child molester, has a disturbing criminal history that spans several decades. Court documents reveal that he was convicted of molesting a nine-year-old girl in Los Angeles County in 1974 and engaging in sexual misconduct with an eight-year-old girl in Wyoming in 1979. His heinous acts continued in Stanislaus County, where he was convicted of molesting an 11-year-old girl in 1986 and another eight-year-old girl in 1993.

Since his last conviction, Gray has been incarcerated, with a recent diagnosis by a psychologist from the Department of State Hospitals (DSH) in 2020 confirming that he suffers from ‘pedophilic disorder’ and poses a significant risk to society.

Despite the psychologist’s assessment, Liberty Healthcare, a company contracted by DSH, has recommended Gray for conditional release. This has sparked outrage from Senator Alvarado-Gil, who expressed her concerns about Gray’s potential re-offending and the safety of the community.

Currently, Liberty Healthcare is scouting for accommodation for Gray in a densely populated area of Turlock, a neighbouring city in Stanislaus County. Senator Alvarado-Gil criticised the decision, stating that it disregards the broader impact on public safety.

When approached for comment, both Liberty Healthcare and DSH declined to provide further information, citing patient privacy laws. However, they assured that they are committed to delivering effective treatment in a secure environment.

The exact location in Turlock where Gray may be housed remains undisclosed, raising concerns among residents about their safety and well-being.

As the community awaits further developments, the efforts to prevent Gray’s release continue, with Senator Alvarado-Gil leading the charge to safeguard the community from potential harm.
