Authorities in McLennan County, Texas have identified the victim of a fatal workplace incident at Mitchell Industrial Tire Co as 39-year-old William Thornton.
On June 6, Thornton tragically lost his life while operating a forklift at the facility. According to the McLennan County Sheriff’s Office, Thornton accidentally struck a rack of tires with the forklift.
Despite the quick response of on-site personnel, Thornton was found unresponsive and sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Initial investigations suggest that Thornton may have experienced a sudden medical emergency while operating the forklift, leading to the accident. However, the exact cause of his death is yet to be determined.
In light of the tragic incident, an autopsy has been ordered by Judge David Pareya to ascertain the precise circumstances that led to Thornton’s untimely passing.
