TONOPAH, Nev. (KOLO) – A devastating motorcycle crash in Nye County has resulted in the tragic loss of a Colorado man earlier this week.
The incident took place on Monday, prompting the response of Nevada Highway Patrol troopers to a collision on U.S. Highway 6 in Nye County, located approximately one mile east of the junction with the famous Extraterrestrial Highway.
According to a preliminary investigation, a Harley Davidson motorcycle was travelling west on US-6 towards Tonopah when it veered off the right side of the highway, leading to the vehicle overturning and ejecting the rider.
The rider, identified as 37-year-old Robin Tatum from Canon City, Colorado, tragically succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.
The Nye County Sheriff’s Office and Nevada Highway Patrol are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash to determine the exact cause and factors that contributed to this tragic incident.
