Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Tragedy struck in Hopkins, Minnesota, as a 4-year-old autistic and nonverbal boy, Waeys Mohamed, was found dead in a local creek after wandering away from his apartment.

During a press conference held at the Hopkins Fire Department, Police Capt. Craig Kreiling addressed the community, confirming the heartbreaking news of Waeys’ passing. Kreiling mentioned that while they suspect the cause of death to be accidental drowning, a thorough investigation will be conducted in collaboration with other agencies to determine the exact circumstances.

Waeys went missing on a Sunday morning after leaving his apartment without supervision. Following an extensive search effort, his lifeless body was discovered in the Minnehaha Creek, approximately 500 yards from his residence, the next day.

Emphasizing the tragic nature of the incident, Kreiling stated, “We have evidence indicating that Waeys left his apartment of his own volition. There is no indication of any foul play at this time. This is a truly devastating accident based on the information we have gathered.”

In response to this heartbreaking loss, family friends have initiated a GoFundMe campaign to assist Waeys’ family in covering the funeral expenses.
