WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — A man convicted of killing a Boston police officer will be arraigned in court today for alleged first-degree robbery and felony assault.

60-year-old Joshua McCullough, also known as Terrell Muhammad, was arrested back in March for allegedly attempting to rob a Citizens Bank on Charles Street in North Providence.

Police were alerted to the incident when a victim reported being attacked while trying to deposit around £9,200 for her employer. The assailant, identified as McCullough through security footage, punched the victim in the chest before fleeing with the deposit bag.

McCullough is facing charges of first-degree robbery and felony assault for this crime.

Besides the recent incident, McCullough has a criminal record that includes serving a 6-year prison sentence for a 1986 shooting death of a store clerk. He also spent 15 years in prison for the killing of a Boston police officer in 1993 and was arrested again in 2009.

This latest arrest adds to the list of legal troubles for McCullough, who has a history of violent crimes.
