In an incident that unfolded earlier today, Nueces County Pct. 5 Deputy Constables collaborated with the Corpus Christi Police Department to apprehend a suspect following a vehicle pursuit that commenced at around 2:35 p.m. in the vicinity of 4038 S. Port Avenue in Corpus Christi, Texas.

According to reports from police radio communications, a male individual driving a black passenger vehicle was purportedly involved in a robbery at a local Home Depot. As the vehicle exited the city limits of Corpus Christi, the U.S. Marshals and Nueces County Pct. 3 Constables assumed control of the pursuit. Pct. 5 Deputy Constables joined the chase in the Calallen area, following the vehicle as it proceeded west on Northwest Blvd. Subsequently, the pursuit continued through Orange Grove before heading south towards Alice.

The pursuit came to a conclusion just within the Alice city limits when the vehicle experienced a blowout, causing it to overturn and come to a halt in an upside-down position. The male driver, later identified as John Sydney Park from Corpus Christi, was extricated from the vehicle and placed under detention by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), which also participated in the pursuit. Park, who was the subject of an outstanding warrant for aggravated robbery, was also suspected of being involved in three additional separate robberies in the Corpus Christi area over the past few days.

The vehicle driven by Park was believed to have been stolen. Following his apprehension by Texas DPS, Park is set to face multiple charges, including evading law enforcement using a motor vehicle and aggravated assault on a police officer. The Corpus Christi Police Department will be conducting an investigation into the robbery at the Home Depot.

Commenting on the successful collaboration between different agencies, officials lauded the effort as a prime example of effective teamwork towards a common objective — the capture and arrest of a dangerous individual. All agencies involved, including Pct. 3 Constables, U.S. Marshals, Pct. 5 Constables, Texas DPS, City of Orange Grove Police, Corpus Christi Police, Jim Wells Sheriff’s Office, and Alice Police Department, played a crucial role in bringing the pursuit to a swift and safe conclusion.

It is important to note that all individuals arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
