A barrage of rockets was fired from Lebanon towards northern Israel on Wednesday morning, in retaliation for Israeli airstrikes that killed four officials from the militant Hezbollah group, including a senior military commander.

The Israeli military reported detecting approximately 90 projectiles, with some intercepted, causing several fires in the area. Among those killed was Taleb Sami Abdullah, known within Hezbollah as Hajj Abu Taleb, marking the most senior commander’s death since the conflict began eight months ago.

Heightened tensions along the Lebanon-Israel border have seen Hezbollah intensify attacks on northern Israel, while Israeli airstrikes have targeted areas deep inside Lebanon. The killing of Abdullah further escalates the ongoing conflict between the two sides.
