Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh – In a devastating incident that occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, a sand-laden truck overturned on a family sleeping outside their house in Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh. The horrific accident resulted in the tragic deaths of eight family members, who were buried alive under the weight of the sand.
Superintendent of Police Keshav Chandra Goswami stated that despite the efforts of local residents to rescue the family by removing the sand, their attempts were futile. Eventually, a bulldozer was called to clear the sand and recover the bodies of the victims.
The victims have been identified as Awdhesh (40), his wife Sudha (35), their children Lalla (5), Sunaina (11), and Buddu (4), as well as their relative Karan (35), his wife Hero (30), and their daughter Komal (5). Tragically, another five-year-old girl sustained injuries in the incident and has been admitted to a hospital for treatment.
The truck driver responsible for the accident has been apprehended by the authorities and is currently in custody. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and has assured that necessary actions will be taken to investigate the cause of the tragic incident.
