The incident took place on June 3, when law enforcement officers responded to reports of a shooting near the 1100 block of South Poplar Street at approximately 6:42 p.m. Upon arrival, authorities discovered the victim, Angel Junior Vuelvas, lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. Tragically, Vuelvas was pronounced dead at the scene.
The shooter managed to flee the scene before the police arrived, prompting a thorough investigation by the authorities. After several days of intensive detective work, Gutierrez was located and taken into custody on June 7. He has since been arrested on charges of murder and has been booked at the Santa Ana Jail.
