A Nashua woman was taken into custody by Merrimack Police on Wednesday evening following a motor vehicle accident on Tinker Rd, where she allegedly fled the scene while impaired, according to official reports.
The incident took place at 5:51 p.m. when Merrimack Police received a report of a hit-and-run incident on Tinker Rd.
After the other party involved in the accident followed the fleeing vehicle and provided updates to the police on its whereabouts, officers were able to locate the vehicle on Continental Blvd.
The driver, identified as 22-year-old America Alcaraz from Nashua, showed signs of alcohol impairment and was subsequently apprehended by the authorities.

Further investigations revealed that Alcaraz had allegedly attempted to unlawfully overtake another vehicle on Tinker Rd, leading to a sideswipe collision before leaving the scene of the accident.
Continuing to drive, Alcaraz eventually pulled into a driveway on Peaslee Rd where she collided with a rock wall before once again fleeing the scene.

Alcaraz is set to appear in the 9th Circuit Merrimack District Court on June 27 to answer to these charges.
