Burning Trash Incident

A tragic incident in Birmingham, Alabama, has resulted in the loss of a young man’s life. Michael Earl Williams Jr., 21, passed away on Sunday after he and two others were engulfed by flames while burning trash outside a residence.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirmed Williams’ identity and reported that he succumbed to his injuries at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. The incident occurred at a home in the 1800 block of Fulton Avenue S.W., where Williams and his companions used an accelerant to start a fire to burn a trash pile.

Tragedy struck around 11:18 p.m. on Saturday when the fire quickly engulfed all three men. While Williams tragically lost his life, the conditions of the other two victims remain undisclosed.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, with the Birmingham Fire Marshal’s Office taking the lead. The community mourns the loss of a young life in this devastating event.
