Newark, New Jersey – Rapper Sexyy Red, whose real name is Janae Wherry, found herself in hot water over the weekend after a violent altercation at Newark International Airport. The incident, which took place at Terminal C, Gate 82, in the early hours of Saturday morning, resulted in the arrest of Wherry and two other individuals.
The Port Authority Police Department responded to reports of a fight at the airport around 1:20 a.m. Surveillance footage captured Wherry, 26, getting involved in the altercation by throwing punches and even wielding a pole. The cause of the brawl remains unknown, but authorities swiftly intervened and apprehended Wherry, along with two men identified as 36-year-old Leslie Baptiste and 26-year-old Carl Thompson.
While Baptiste and Thompson were arrested for assault, Wherry was charged with disorderly conduct. The two male victims sustained minor head injuries and were taken to University Hospital for treatment.
The incident at Newark International Airport has sparked concerns about safety and security at the busy travel hub. Authorities are urging the public to remain calm and report any suspicious activities to ensure the safety of all travelers.
