Dana Lowder : “Man shot near Boston Common – Charges filed”

Charges have been filed after a man was shot near the iconic Boston Common fountain, turning the picturesque park into a crime scene. The incident unfolded when officers on patrol last night heard 3 to 4 shots being fired in the vicinity of the Brewer Fountain. Police immediately sprang into action and spotted a man, later identified as Dana Lowder, allegedly fleeing the scene while clutching his waistband.

The defendant, a 30-year-old resident of Lynnfield, was seen tossing a firearm during a chase with the officers. The authorities managed to recover the discarded weapon, leading to Lowder’s arrest on weapons and drug-related charges. In that case, nearby officers witnessed Lowder firing shots and managed to apprehend him.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the Lowell shooting from 2021, and the victim from the recent Boston Common incident is expected to survive. Lowder is now being held in custody pending a dangerousness hearing scheduled for Monday. It seems that this repeat offender’s criminal activities have once again caught up with him, leading to serious repercussions for his actions.
