LEITCHFIELD, Ky. (WBKO) – Two individuals, identified as Lannie and Daron Fentress, were taken into custody in Leitchfield after engaging in a physical altercation with police officers who were responding to a basement fire. The fire, which occurred on Rison Drive, was found to contain a substantial amount of ammunition and firearms.

Upon receiving reports of the basement fire, law enforcement officials swiftly arrived at the scene to evacuate the premises. Despite being instructed to vacate the area, Lannie and Daron Fentress attempted to re-enter the property. Their refusal led to a confrontation with the officers, during which both individuals physically assaulted the law enforcement personnel, prompting their arrest.

During the altercation, Daron Fentress was subdued using a taser, while Lannie Fentress made threatening remarks towards one of the officers. Lannie Fentress further resisted arrest by physically assaulting the police officers before eventually being subdued with a taser as well. Following their apprehension, both men were transported to the Grayson County Detention Center.

As the situation unfolded, Lannie Fentress displayed uncooperative behavior while receiving medical treatment from emergency medical services personnel. He refused to provide his personal information to the attending officer. Both Lannie and Daron Fentress are facing a series of charges related to the incident, including menacing, assault of a police officer, and wanton endangerment.

Subsequently, the officers involved in the altercation were treated for smoke inhalation and injuries at a local emergency room before being discharged.
