Accident – Death – Obituary News :

A recent incident at Delhi Airport has shed light on the alarming trend of hoax bomb threats being made via email. The Delhi Police have identified a 13-year-old boy as the sender of a threatening email that claimed an Air Canada flight en route from Delhi to Toronto had a bomb on board. Fortunately, the threat was quickly determined to be a hoax.

Upon further investigation, police discovered that the email used for the threat had been created just an hour before it was sent. The email originated from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, where a search operation led to the discovery of the young boy responsible for the email. The boy admitted to police that he was inspired by media coverage of a similar incident involving a Mumbai flight.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police, Usha Rangnani, the boy created a fake email ID on his phone and used his mother’s phone to access the internet and send the threatening email. After sending the email, he promptly deleted it. However, upon seeing news reports the following morning about a bomb threat at Delhi Airport, the boy became fearful and did not disclose his involvement to his family.

Following his apprehension, the child was taken into custody and appeared before the Juvenile Justice Board. He was later released into the care of his parents after undergoing counselling. The police have seized the boy’s phone as part of their investigation.

On the day of the incident, the Air Canada flight in question was scheduled to depart around 10.50 pm. As a precautionary measure, the flight was moved to an isolation bay, and all necessary security screenings were conducted to ensure the safety of passengers and crew.

This incident serves as a reminder of the serious consequences of making false bomb threats, even in jest. The authorities are working diligently to address the issue and prevent similar incidents in the future.

Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
