Authorities in Sunbury are currently on the lookout for a 51-year-old man who allegedly fled the scene of a traffic stop on Friday night. Chief Travis Bremigen stated that the incident took place around 9:45 p.m. in the 400 block of Woodlawn Avenue.

The suspect, identified as Thomas Donrfranesco, was asked to step out of the vehicle after officers discovered illegal drugs. Donrfranesco reportedly made a run for it, leading the police on a high-speed chase that eventually came to an end near Watsontown.

Despite their efforts, the man managed to evade capture and is currently wanted by law enforcement. Bremigen clarified that contrary to social media rumors, there was no child in the vehicle during the pursuit.

Donrfranesco is facing charges of felony fleeing, and anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact Northumberland County 911 at 570-988-4217.

In a separate incident on Saturday night, Sunbury officers tried to stop a four-wheeler and a dirt bike that were reportedly being operated recklessly on a city street. However, both drivers fled into a wooded area when approached by the police.

Chief Bremigen revealed that investigations into both incidents are ongoing, with officers scouring for video surveillance footage. Individuals with relevant information about the Saturday night occurrence are encouraged to reach out to Northumberland County 911.
