BENGALURU: In a heartbreaking incident, a 22-year-old first-year MBBS student named Lokendra Kumar from Rajasthan took his own life by hanging himself in his hostel room at Bowring and Lady Curzon Medical College and Hospital on Monday.
The police revealed that Kumar had failed to attend class on that fateful day. His roommates discovered the tragic scene upon returning from class around 2 pm. Concerned when Kumar did not respond to their calls, they forced open the door and found him hanging from the ceiling fan. They immediately lowered him down and rushed him to the hospital before contacting the authorities.
Authorities arrived promptly at the scene and proceeded to transfer the body for a post-mortem examination. No suicide note was discovered in the room, leaving his friends and teachers puzzled as they were unaware of any reasons that may have led to his drastic decision. The investigation is ongoing, and further details are expected to come to light once Kumar’s parents arrive in Bengaluru from Rajasthan.
