Accident – Death – Obituary News : Four members of a family from Rajasthan’s Jaipur, along with two cousins from Uttar Pradesh’s Balrampur district, were among the nine individuals tragically killed in a horrific terror attack on a bus carrying pilgrims in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district on Sunday evening.

The family from Chomu near Jaipur, who lost their lives in the attack, were identified as Pooja Saini, 30, her two-year-old son Levansh, Pooja’s paternal uncle Rajendra Saini, 44, and Rajendra’s wife Mamta, 40. Additionally, the two cousins from Balrampur, Ruby Verma (22) and Anurag Verma (16), were also among the victims of this senseless act of violence.

According to reports, one more individual from Uttar Pradesh is believed to have perished in the incident, although their identity has yet to be confirmed by authorities.

Speaking to The Indian Express, Pooja Saini’s father, Om Prakash Saini, 53, expressed the devastating loss suffered by the family. He revealed that Rajendra and Mamta, the parents of three children – Varsha, 22, Rahul, 19, and Lucky, 17 – have not been informed of their parents’ tragic fate. The family was on a pilgrimage to Vaishno Devi when the attack occurred.

Chomu Circle Officer Ashok Chauhan confirmed that efforts are being made to bring the bodies of the deceased back to Jaipur for final rites.

Ruby Verma, a resident of Kandhari village in Balrampur, was a dedicated student pursuing graduation and also worked as a teacher in a private school. Accompanied by her mother Vimla Devi and elder sister Maina Verma, Ruby was part of a group of 13 individuals from Balrampur visiting the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra. Tragically, Ruby lost her life in the attack, while her mother and sister sustained injuries.

Banshi Verma, Ruby’s elder brother, recounted the family’s pilgrimage journey that began on June 4 with a visit to Ayodhya before heading to Jammu. He shared that the last conversation he had with Ruby was on June 6.

Officials from Balrampur and Gonda districts in Uttar Pradesh have been actively engaged in providing support to the affected families. The injured have been admitted to hospitals in Jammu, with local authorities coordinating efforts to ensure they receive the necessary medical care.

The Uttar Pradesh government has dispatched teams to Jammu and Kashmir to assist with the repatriation of the deceased and ensure the injured receive proper medical attention.

This tragic incident has left families devastated and communities in mourning as they come to terms with the loss of their loved ones. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by this senseless act of violence.
