Authorities from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department swiftly responded to the distressing incident in the 25000 block of Highway 74 on June 8 at approximately 10 p.m. The distress call originated from an unincorporated area of the county known as Good Hope, where a victim was reported to have sustained a gunshot wound, as detailed in a recent RCSD news release.
Upon arrival at the scene, deputies discovered a 56-year-old female victim, later identified as Kimberly Dunlap, a resident of Good Hope. Despite immediate lifesaving measures, the victim tragically succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Following the harrowing incident, detectives from RCSD’s Central Homicide Unit took charge of the investigation. Their diligent efforts led to the identification and subsequent arrest of a male suspect and fellow resident of Good Hope, identified as William Dunlap.
