Recent incidents reported by Cape Ann’s police and fire departments:

GLOUCESTER

Sunday, June 2

11:18 p.m.: A report of a suspicious motor vehicle on Western Avenue was investigated by the authorities.

10:56 p.m.: Peace was restored following a 911 call from a convenience store on Rogers Street.

4:35 p.m.: A minor crash at Market Basket on Gloucester Crossing Road resulted in property damage only.

4:18 p.m.: Threats reported on Essex Avenue involved a woman receiving a threatening letter from an unidentified person. The police informed the resident of her rights and advised on obtaining a harassment order.

2:22 p.m.: A report of possible drug activity on Gloucester Crossing Road was made to the police.

2:19 p.m.: The Fire Department responded to a call from Fair Street regarding a potential electrical fire, which turned out to be a false alarm.

12:13 p.m.: Traffic assistance was provided to the Fire Department for an outside burning incident on East Main Street.

12:01 p.m.: Traffic control was required at 200 Washington St. during a Fire Department call.

8:39 p.m.: A suspicious person reportedly going through a mailbox on Western Avenue prompted a 911 call.

8:33 p.m.: Debris on the roadway just prior to Exit 54 and Route 128 southbound was reported but not located by the police.

6:40 p.m.: A past breaking and entering involving a hockey stick through a window on Sumner Street was reported. The attempted intrusion was unsuccessful.

Tuesday, May 28

12:03 a.m.: Police were dispatched to a motor-vehicle rollover on Forest St. involving a white Toyota Rav4 lying on its driver’s side. The driver, who left the scene initially, was later located and faced charges for negligent driving and leaving the scene of property damage.
