Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Surveillance video has emerged showing a chilling incident in which a woman allegedly followed a mother and her 3-year-old son through an Ohio grocery store before fatally stabbing them in the parking lot, according to local authorities.

The tragic incident took place at a Giant Eagle grocery store in North Olmsted, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland, on June 3. The victims have been identified as 3-year-old Julian Wood and his mother, Margot Wood, aged 38.

The North Olmsted Police Department (NOPD) released footage captured by the store’s surveillance cameras, showing the suspect, identified as 32-year-old Bionca Ellis from Cleveland, following the mother and child out of the store and into the parking lot just moments before the brutal attack.

Following the attack, Ellis was swiftly apprehended and is now facing multiple charges, including murder, attempted murder, and felonious assault, according to a statement by Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael C. O’Malley. She is currently being held on a $1 million bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.

Sergeant Matt Beck of the NOPD stated, “The investigation into the motive of this attack is still ongoing, but everything learned thus far points that this was a random act of violence. Ellis and the victims had no prior interactions before this incident.”

According to the police, Ellis has a history of theft but no known violent criminal record. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and authorities are continuing their investigation into the tragic incident.

The surveillance footage from inside the store shows Ellis entering the grocery store at 2:58 p.m., carrying a knife that she allegedly stole from a nearby thrift store. The video captures Ellis walking near the self-checkout area before she begins following Margot Wood and Julian.

Shortly after 3 p.m. on the same day, multiple 911 calls reported a black female dressed in all black “stabbing people in the parking lot of Giant Eagle.” Officers responded to the scene and found Ellis still in possession of the weapon. The mother and son were rushed to St. John’s Medical Center, where Julian succumbed to his injuries, while Margot was treated for non-life-threatening wounds.

Prosecutor O’Malley expressed his condolences to the Wood family, stating, “This case is truly devastating. I want to express my heartfelt condolences to the Wood family during this difficult time. As a father, I could not begin to imagine this grief, but I can promise that we will do everything in our power to bring justice for Julian Wood and the Wood family.”
