On the evening of the incident, officers received a distressing report about a 2-year-old boy who had gone missing. They immediately sprang into action, launching a search operation to locate the child. After hours of scouring the area, the tragic discovery was made in a garbage dumpster, where young Jacoby was found deceased.
The devastating turn of events led detectives to point the finger at the toddler’s mother, 23-year-old Diaja Smith, as the prime suspect in this harrowing case. Smith was apprehended shortly after the discovery and is set to face charges of open murder and other serious felonies once she is booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
