A 19-year-old man, identified as Luis Arguello-Inglis, a freshman studying communications at San Jose State University, was fatally shot on Wednesday night in San Francisco’s Mission Dolores Park.

The incident occurred around 10 p.m., with officers responding to reports of gunshots in the area. Upon arrival, they found Inglis lying on the ground near the park’s south edge.

Despite the efforts of first responders and paramedics to save him, Inglis was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

A GoFundMe page set up in his memory has garnered over 400 donations and raised more than $33,000 as of Sunday afternoon.

The page describes Inglis as a “bright light” in the lives of those who knew him, filled with love, laughter, and limitless potential. His passing has left a profound void in the hearts of his loved ones.

Known for his role as a center back for the San Francisco Seals soccer team, Inglis was praised for his quiet demeanor and wisdom that belied his young age.

The team paid tribute to him in an Instagram post, expressing their condolences to his family, friends, and the wider community.
