In a tragic incident in Thanesar City, Kurukshetra, the body of a 20-year-old unemployed youth was discovered in a secluded area on Saturday. The deceased, identified as Deepak from Kailash Nagar, Kurukshetra, was found in broad daylight with an empty syringe and remnants of drugs at the scene.
Upon the discovery of the body, local residents promptly informed the police. Deepak’s uncle, in shock and disbelief, stated that the young man had a history of drug abuse, but the family was unaware of the circumstances leading to his demise. “I received a distressing call informing me about Deepak’s lifeless body in the city area. I rushed to the scene only to find him deceased. He was unmarried and unemployed,” expressed Deepak’s uncle.
Investigating Officer ASI Dinesh indicated that the incident appeared to be a drug-related death, pending confirmation from the forensic examination and viscera reports. He added, “Family members have disclosed Deepak’s drug addiction, and we have retrieved syringes from the site. The viscera has been collected for further analysis.” The post-mortem examination was conducted on Saturday, following which the body was released to the family for cremation.
The local authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding Deepak’s untimely death. The community is saddened by the loss of a young life to substance abuse, highlighting the urgent need for greater awareness and support for individuals battling addiction.
