The townhome located at 324 Berringan Drive in Barrhaven, Ottawa, which was the scene of a horrific mass homicide in March, has recently been put up for sale. The property has been listed on the popular real-estate aggregator site Realtor.ca for the asking price of £599,900 by Royal Lepage Realty.

According to the listing, the two-storey townhouse boasts newly installed granite countertops, waterproof flooring, and fresh carpeting on the stairs, offering potential buyers a modern and updated living space.

The tragic incident that took place on March 6 in the townhouse resulted in the loss of six lives. The victims were identified as Darshani Ekanyake, aged 35, along with her children Inuka Wickramasinghe, aged 7, Ashwini Wickramasinghe, aged 4, Rinyana Wickramasinghe, aged 2, and Kelly Wickramasinghe, aged just 2 months old. Additionally, Amarakoonmubiayansela Ge Gamini Amarakoon, aged 40, also lost his life in the devastating event.

Fortunately, Dhanushka Wickramasinghe, the father of the family, managed to survive the attack, albeit with injuries to his hands and face. He was the sole survivor of one of the most tragic mass killings in the history of Ottawa.

Suspect arrested and charged in connection with the mass killing

Ottawa police swiftly took action following the incident and apprehended and charged a 19-year-old individual who was known to the family. The suspect faced six counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder in relation to the tragic events that unfolded in the Barrhaven townhouse.

Authorities revealed that the suspect was residing in the home at the time of the incident, shedding light on the disturbing nature of the crimes that took place within the otherwise peaceful neighbourhood.

As the townhouse now stands as a solemn reminder of the tragic events that transpired within its walls, potential buyers may consider the history of the property as they weigh their decision to purchase a home in the area.
