Authorities in Omaha have apprehended a 24-year-old individual for allegedly committing first-degree arson in a fire incident that took place in February. The fire occurred at a residence situated near the intersection of 24th and Hartman streets, leading to the displacement of multiple individuals.

Investigation and Witness Accounts

Following the fire, law enforcement officials initiated an investigation into the matter, during which several witnesses were interviewed. Court documents revealed that one witness recounted being awoken by loud knocking on the door, with a man later identified as Daimon Kinney seeking entry into the residence. Despite being asked to leave, Kinney reportedly made a threatening statement, saying, “I have something for you.”

Shortly thereafter, one of the residents noticed that the exit stairs were engulfed in flames. Another witness claimed to have seen Kinney standing outside near the stairs, alleging that he was demanding money from someone. The property, which consisted of two floors divided into two separate apartments, housed a total of six individuals at the time of the fire.

Swift Response and Arrest

Fortunately, emergency services were able to extinguish the fire within less than 15 minutes, containing the damage to the exterior of the house. Subsequently, Daimon Kinney was taken into custody by authorities on Friday for his alleged involvement in the arson incident.
