A tragic incident occurred at Disneyland on Wednesday morning when a long-time employee, 60-year-old Bonnye Mavis Lear, suffered a fatal head injury in a golf cart accident. The Anaheim Police Department confirmed the news, stating that Lear fell from a moving golf cart and struck her head. She was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition and sadly succumbed to her injuries on Friday.

Disneyland Resort president Ken Potrock expressed his heartfelt condolences, stating, “We are heartbroken by the loss of Bonnye and offer our sincere condolences to everyone who cared for her. At this time, we are focused on supporting her family and our cast members through this tragic event and making sure they have the resources they need.” Lear had been an integral part of the membership services team at Disneyland’s exclusive Club 33 restaurant for 24 years.

Darren Lemke, known for his work on Goosebumps and Shazam!, is writing the script for a feature film set in a fantastical world centered around the prestigious club. The project is being produced by Shawn Levy of 21 Laps Entertainment.

A Tragic Accident

According to reports from Disneyland cast member Rae Delgado, the accident that led to Lear’s untimely death involved a golf cart traveling at a high speed. Delgado shared on Facebook that Lear suffered a fractured skull and brain swelling as a result of the incident. Despite undergoing surgery, Lear was declared brain dead on Thursday morning.
