(KRON) — A two-alarm fire in Contra Costa County on Saturday resulted in the displacement of at least 10 residents, according to a Contra Costa Fire Department captain.

Emergency responders were called to a three-story apartment complex located on Montoya and San Pablo Avenue at around 4:30 p.m. The fire prompted officials to advise citizens to steer clear of the area as firefighters worked to contain the blaze.

While the exact number of apartments affected by the fire remains uncertain, the Contra Costa Fire captain confirmed that “at least 10” residents were forced to evacuate. The Red Cross has stepped in to provide support and assistance to those impacted by the incident.

Fortunately, there were no reported injuries as a result of the fire. Fire crews successfully extinguished the flames by 5:10 p.m., but investigative teams remained on-site until 7:10 p.m. to determine the cause of the fire, as per CoCo Fire officials.
