Charnavia Criswell : Lake City Police Arrest Woman for Attempted Homicide by Car Strike

LAKE CITY, Fla. — Authorities in Lake City have arrested a suspect for attempted homicide following a disturbing incident that unfolded on Saturday morning.

The Lake City Police Department received a call just before 9 a.m. about a person who had sustained serious injuries at the intersection of South Marion Avenue and SW Crescent Street.

Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered an individual with severe head and body injuries. Immediate medical attention was provided by officers, firefighters, and EMTs.

According to reports, a witness observed the victim engaged in a heated argument with the driver of a Buick vehicle. The situation escalated when the driver allegedly accelerated and struck the victim, propelling them into the windshield.

The driver, identified as Charnavia Criswell, fled the scene following the incident. However, she was later apprehended by the police and taken into custody at the Columbia County Detention Center.
