A 15-year-old boy was injured in a collision with a vehicle while riding his electric scooter at the intersection of West Middle Turnpike and New State Road early Thursday morning, authorities in Manchester have reported.
According to Manchester police, they received reports of the incident at around 6:57 a.m. and quickly responded to the scene.
The teenager was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were described as non-life-threatening.
Following the incident, the driver of the vehicle involved briefly stopped at the scene before fleeing eastbound on West Middle Turnpike.
The car in question has been identified as a green Nissan Altima with Massachusetts registration plates 7SX682. It is suspected that the vehicle may be using a misused registration.
Authorities have provided details of the suspect vehicle, noting that it has a spare tire on the front right side and a significant dent on the rear left bumper. Additionally, the right-side view mirror is expected to have damage from the collision.
Witnesses who were present at the scene described the driver as a Hispanic female believed to be in her 20s or 30s.
Police are now seeking the public’s assistance in locating both the suspect and the vehicle involved in the incident.
