Eriberto Montanez : San Benito Man Dies in Fiery Crash: Tragic Friday Night Accident

Troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) are currently conducting an investigation into a tragic single-vehicle accident that resulted in the death of a male driver in the San Benito area on Friday night.

The fatal incident took place at approximately 9:03 p.m. on Friday at the intersection of Green Valley Farms Street and Crab Hole Lane in San Benito, as detailed in an official statement released by DPS.

According to the preliminary findings of the investigation, a Mercedes driven by a 30-year-old man identified as Eriberto Montanez, a local resident of San Benito, was observed travelling at a high speed southbound on Green Valley Farms Street.

Unfortunately, Montanez lost control of his vehicle and veered off the road, crashing into a ditch before the car caught fire, engulfing the vehicle entirely, as per the official report.

Despite the efforts of a bystander who managed to rescue Montanez from the burning car, the driver succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
