A 14-year-old girl has been charged in connection with four robberies that occurred on the South Side of Chicago, within the premises of the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), according to the Chicago police.

Charges Filed Against the Teen

The young girl is facing four counts of robbery and four counts of aggravated battery against a transit employee, as per the police statement.

Arrest Warrant Issued

Following a thorough investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for the teenager after she was identified as one of the individuals involved in the series of robberies that took place in May on CTA property. Subsequently, she was apprehended by members of the Bureau of Counter-Terrorism Mass Transit Team on Friday in the first block of East Roosevelt Road.

Details of the Robberies

On May 6, a 23-year-old woman was assaulted and robbed at approximately 8:30 p.m. in the first block of West Cermak Road.

Further incidents occurred on May 10, where three additional victims were targeted. The first robbery on May 10 occurred around 10:45 p.m. in the first block of West 79th Street, where a 29-year-old man was assaulted and robbed. Shortly after midnight, a 22-year-old woman fell victim to a similar attack in the first block of West 95th Street. Finally, around 2:15 a.m., a 21-year-old woman was assaulted and robbed in the first block of West Cermak Road.

These incidents have raised concerns within the community and highlighted the importance of ensuring safety and security on public transportation.
