A tragic incident occurred on Friday night at Scalzi Park in Stamford, CT, where a 23-year-old man lost his life in a motorcycle crash. The victim, identified as Oscar Chinchilla-Najarro, was a resident of Stamford.

The fatal crash took place around 11:08 p.m. on Bridge Street, as reported by the Stamford Police Department. According to initial investigations, Chinchilla-Najarro was riding a 2001 Kawasaki dirt bike on an outer roadway of the park when he lost control of the vehicle. Subsequently, he mounted the curb and collided with the guardrail on the east side of the park.

Tragically, Chinchilla-Najarro was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Speed is believed to have played a significant role in the accident, according to the police.

Sgt. Jeffrey Booth and officer Cory Fisher are currently leading the investigation into the crash. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has additional information is urged to contact the SPD’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad at 203-977-4712.
