In a heartbreaking incident in Surat, Gujarat, a car accident claimed the lives of three family members and left four others injured. The tragic incident occurred on the city’s outer ring road around 11.30 pm on Friday night, sending shockwaves through the local community.
According to officials from the Utran police station, the driver of the car lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and collide with a group of people who were sitting by the roadside. Among the victims were eight-year-old Viyan, his father Devesh Vagjhani (40), and his uncle Sanket Bavaria (32), who tragically lost their lives in the accident.
Inspector A D Mahant revealed that the driver of the car, Yagnesh Gohil (40), had apparently dozed off at the wheel. When he suddenly woke up and realized the car was off course, he mistakenly stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake, leading to the fatal collision with the unsuspecting group of locals.
Tragically, the young boy and his uncle were pronounced dead at the scene, while the father succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Four other victims were rushed to the hospital, with one of them in critical condition. The accident also resulted in damage to two two-wheelers that were parked nearby.
Following the incident, the driver, Yagnesh Gohil, was promptly arrested by authorities. The community is reeling from the loss of life and the injuries sustained in this devastating accident.
