Kaimur (Bihar) [India], June 8 (ANI): A 23-year-old man was brutally murdered in Belawan village, Bihar’s Kaimur district, over an alleged love affair on Friday night. The victim, identified as Pankaj Kumar, was found dead with his throat slit at a temple in Sonara village near Belawan on Saturday morning, according to police sources.
Reports suggest that Pankaj Kumar was involved in a romantic relationship with a girl from the same village, who recently tied the knot in Maharashtra. The shocking incident came to light when his family discovered his lifeless body on Saturday morning after he failed to return home on Friday evening.
Upon receiving information about the gruesome murder, the police rushed to the scene and took statements from the deceased’s relatives. The grief-stricken family demanded the immediate arrest of the perpetrators and refused to allow the body to be moved until justice was served.
Following intervention by senior officials, the body of Pankaj Kumar was transported to Bhabua Sadar Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Authorities have assured the victim’s family that necessary actions will be taken against those responsible for the heinous crime.
Local residents informed the victim’s family about the tragic incident around 6 am on Saturday and pointed fingers at the girl’s family for their alleged involvement in his murder.
“Pankaj Kumar left home around 4 pm, purchased vegetables, and sent them back with a child. When he did not return by nightfall, we searched for him until the late hours, assuming he was spending time with friends,” said his paternal aunt.
Bhabua Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Shiv Shankar Kumar disclosed that the youth was brutally murdered due to a love affair. Two suspects have been apprehended in connection with the murder, and further investigations are currently underway.
“Based on the information we have received, the young man was killed on the temple premises on Friday night. Two individuals believed to be involved in the crime have been taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing,” stated the SDOP.
