A tragic incident occurred in Bensalem Township, PA on Friday evening, as a 45-year-old man lost his life in a house fire at the Top of The Ridge Trailer Park. The victim, identified as Joseph Stadler, was found inside his home just after 5 p.m., as authorities responded to the scene.
During the rescue operation, a firefighter sustained injuries and was rushed to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital for treatment. Thankfully, he was later released after suffering from smoke inhalation while battling the blaze.
Emergency services received a distress call reporting a trailer fire on Gibson Road with entrapment. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered Stadler’s mobile home on lot D14 fully engulfed in flames, with the fire also spreading to the neighbouring mobile home on lot D12.
The brave firefighters managed to extinguish the fire and limit the damage to just two mobile homes. They utilized four 1 1/2 water lines to successfully put out the blaze in both trailers. Tragically, Stadler was found deceased inside his home.
Fortunately, no other residents were injured in the fire. However, the incident is currently under investigation by both Bensalem Fire and Police authorities to determine the cause of the fire.
Multiple emergency response teams, including Bensalem Township Police, Bensalem Fire Rescue, and volunteers from Newport, Nottingham, and Penndel fire companies, swiftly responded to the scene. The initial findings suggest that the fire originated in the living room area of Stadler’s home.
Regrettably, the mobile home on lot D14 was completely destroyed, while lot D12 suffered significant damage. The Red Cross was present to support and assist the residents who were displaced by this devastating fire.
