Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Police in Queen Creek have arrested and charged a 33-year-old man following a tragic incident that resulted in the death of a young girl. The man, identified as Jason Sanchez, is accused of crashing into a vehicle at high speed, causing the death of a 4-year-old girl.

The incident occurred on Wednesday at the intersection of Power Road and Hunt Highway, where a vehicle carrying an adult and two children was rear-ended while stopped at a stop sign. According to police reports, Sanchez crashed into the back of the victim’s vehicle without braking, driving at 60 mph.

The young girl was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries but tragically succumbed to her injuries the following day. The other two occupants of the vehicle sustained minor injuries in the crash.

Driver Charged with Aggravated Assault and DUI

Investigations revealed that Sanchez had a blood alcohol level of 0.11% at the time of the incident, as determined by intoxilyzer test results. Following the crash, Sanchez was arrested and booked into the Pinal County Jail on charges of Aggravated Assault and DUI.

Queen Creek police Chief Randy Brice expressed condolences to the family of the victim, describing the loss of a child as unimaginable. He also highlighted the dangers of drinking and driving, emphasizing the reckless nature of such actions.

Additional Charge of Second-Degree Murder

Due to the tragic death of the young girl, Sanchez will now also face an additional charge of second-degree murder, according to police statements. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, with Queen Creek police and the Pinal County Regional Vehicular Crimes Task Force working to determine the circumstances leading up to the crash.
