40-year-old woman : “Shark Incidents in Walton County, FL”

UPDATE: As of 3:00 pm, Walton County Sheriff’s Office and South Walton Fire District are responding to a second shark incident following multiple reports involving a teenager.

Officials are currently responding to the area of Shoreline Drive, where the incident took place. The water in Walton County has been closed to the public as a safety precaution.

WALTON COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) – Shocking news has emerged from Walton County as reports indicate a second shark incident in the area. This incident comes shortly after a previous attack earlier in the day.

Just after 1:15 p.m., emergency services were called to Watersound in Walton County after receiving reports of a teenager being injured in a shark attack. The victim, a 40-year-old woman, has reportedly lost her left hand in the incident.

Double red flags are now flying along the beaches in the surrounding area, signifying the closure of the Gulf to the public in the affected area of Walton County.

Following the attack, one patient has been transported by South Walton Fire District for further medical attention. The extent of the victim’s injuries has not been disclosed at this time.

Walton County Sheriff’s Office has issued a warning to beachgoers, advising them to be mindful of lifeguards and beach deputies who are working to ensure the safety of individuals in the immediate vicinity.
